NHS COVID-19 VACCINATION PROGRAMME UPDATE

COVID Booster Jabs

COVID booster jabs are now being rolled out across Somerset for those who are double vaccinated.  The booster jab will be offered to patients at least six months after their second vaccine was given.

Patients will be contacted by the National Booking Service by letter or text to arrange their booster jabs.  Please do not contact the surgery as we cannot arrange booster jabs for our patients.

COVID Vaccinations for 16-17 Year Olds

Patients aged 16 or 17 can call 119 or go to a walk-in clinic for their vaccine.  The NHS online site finder will help people find their nearest walk-in vaccine clinic.

COVID Vaccinations for 12-15 Year Olds

The NHS has started to roll out the COVID-19 jab to school children aged 12 to 15 years.  Children in this group are currently eligible for one dose of the Pfizer vaccine.  These vaccinations will be delivered by the local school age immunisation services (SAIS) who will work closely with schools to identify all eligible children.  Families do not need to contact their GP or NHS to arrange their child's vaccine.  Schools and providers will be in touch.
