Telephone Advice

If you need to speak to a doctor or nurse on the telephone, please try to telephone (Williton 632701) either between 8.30 am and 9.00 am or between 11.30 am and 12 noon, when the clinician is more likely to be available. We try not to interrupt consultations except in an emergency.

Training / Teaching

West Somerset Healthcare is a training practice with two qualified GP Trainers within our team and we are committed to the professional development of our team.  The practice closes one afternoon each month for training purposes to help us ensure that our clinical skills are kept up to date.

Most of the time there is GP Registrar, a recently qualified doctor, attached to the practice team.  They are here to build on their training, to become General Practitioners, under the supervision of the partners.

In addition, medical students and nursing students attend the practice from time to time. We hope that you will co-operate with us and help the students to learn about general practice. However, you will be informed of their presence in advance, and if you do not want them to be present at a consultation, your wishes will be respected. This will not affect your treatment in any way.

As part of our education activity the doctors sometimes make video recordings of consultations; this will not be done without your consent.

If you are a doctor looking for a training placement please contact us for an information pack about our practice, which will give you more specific detail.
